Honor Your Ancestors And They Will Bless Your Prosperity
One of the beliefs as I have mentioned before about the ancestors is that the principles of 6,000 year old Chinese Feng Shui believes that if you have a way that you can go dress the grave or help to clean it up, of your Ancestors, that they will smile down from Heaven and that they will actually bless you.
I live about one hundred miles from where my Mother is buried. She had exactly the right amount of grave spaces to bury her with her family.
What happened is that my brother passed away early so she gave him her spot, and an aunt that had some extra spaces gave my Mother a place when she passed. Well, it is very far away from everyone else. There is simply a tombstone there and I thought “What would be a nice way to honor my Mother?”
I went to Wal-Mart and I bought one of those $39 wooden slat park benches. I sprayed it Rustoleum Metallic Gold for Prosperity hoping for my family to receive that blessing energy.
I bought a wreath. I wired golden flowers on it and wired it to the back of the bench. I took a bag of Ready Crete and my garden shovel. I also took a couple of jugs of water. I dug my holes and I actually set that little park bench there in concrete, and left it so when my family comes that lives there in town, they could stop to visit my Mother’s gravesite and they will have a place to sit and think about what she meant to them and share the blessing she placed on their lives.
I don’t get to go very often since it is a distance but I thought this is a wonderful thing to do for those that do. I’ll just wait and see what happens with the Feng Shui Ancestors blessing.
Five days after I went and installed this bench at my Mother’s gravesite right there at her feet, someone called me from a Home and Landscaping decorating magazine in Dallas and they offered me the position of Guest Columnist for their magazine with a brand new Feng Shui column.
I had been hoping to be able to be a Guest Columnist and here all I did was present the bench, cement it in place, spend a little time, a little money and the very next thing that happened is I was able to be published, which I thought was really remarkable, since all I really did was simply just go to dress the grave and see what happened with that.
Honor Your Ancestors and They Will Bless Your Prosperity…
Go and honor your ancestors, concentrate on your Pure Intention and see what happens for your prosperity. My experience has been that you will be pleasantly surprised.
Update: I traveled to my home town to visit and redress the bench last Christmas as always. When I got there my sister that lives in town had already been there with red, green, and gold long silk drapery cording and had wrapped the slats of the bench in a festive way. She had placed Christmas decorations on it as well.
For years after my brother’s death my Mother had always taken a tiny Christmas tree out to my brother’s grave site and placed it in front of his memorial stone. There in front of my Mother’s stone was a tiny Christmas tree, complete with decorations, exactly as she had done as a memorial for my brother for years. It touched my heart as I remembered her faithfulness and here, at Christmas, my sister had already done the same for her. It was a blessing I had not been expecting, as we had never discussed it. I was moved to tears as I realized she too wanted to bless our Mother at Christmas.
Remember your Ancestors not only at Christmas, but bless them with pictures in your home and lift them up a bit above eye level. This will elevate the Ancestors’ Ch’i and bring blessings to your family as well. If you use golden frames on your pictures, you will be surrounding them in Prosperity, which, as the Chinese believe, will trickle down to you and your family. What a lovely way to teach your children to “Honor Our Ancestors.”CHRISTMAS HOLIDAY NOTE: Many of my clients “Blanket” the gravesite of their loved ones during the holiday season. Cut a piece of plywood or particle board 3’ x 6’ and paint it Christmas tree green. Cut the branches off of a Christmas tree and cover the entire top of the board by stapling the branches thickly onto it. Use wide red plastic ribbon to wrap the “Blanket” like a Christmas present and put a big bow on top of the intersection of the ribbons like you would any gift.
Then go and place this “Christmas Blanket” on top of the gravesite. It makes a beautiful, loving statement that we want to include our loved one in our Holiday celebration. It is an excellent project for children to help with and teaches them the value of family and remembering the importance of that family for future Christmases. It also teaches them to respect the family members that have passed on.
The first person to teach me about “Christmas Blankets” was my precious friend and prayer partner, Shirley Smith-Rodriquez over twenty years ago. She said she wanted her Mother to be “warm” during the holidays. What a lovely, thoughtful ritual to honor the love she held for her darling Mother. She missed her Mother the most at this time of the year and found a way to include her in the Holiday season.
